The commercial terms in plain language
Website Sherpa plans include an initial 12-month commitment. After the first year, your plan continues and may be canceled at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Payments are nonrefundable once the applicable billing period has begun, except where required by law or expressly agreed in writing.
Initial 12-month term
Your plan's initial term begins when your paid subscription or onboarding begins. You may request cancellation during this period, but the commitment remains in effect: service continues through the end of the initial term and amounts owed for it remain payable.
After the initial term
Once the initial 12 months are complete, your plan continues and you may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No new annual commitment begins unless you expressly agree to one.
How to cancel
Submit a cancellation request through our contact page before your next billing date, identifying your business or website. Cancellation is effective once we acknowledge or process it. You remain responsible for charges already incurred, and hosting, support, and included services continue through the effective cancellation date.
Refunds
Payments are nonrefundable once the applicable billing period has begun, except where required by law or expressly agreed in writing. This includes unused months during the initial term and unused update time.
After service ends
Hosting and included services run through the effective cancellation date. Website Sherpa isn't required to continue hosting once the paid service period ends, and you have 30 days afterward to request available website files and content exports before they may be deleted.
Third-party services
Canceling Website Sherpa doesn't cancel third-party services billed directly to you: domain registration, email hosting, booking tools, payment processors, and similar services remain your responsibility to manage or cancel.
Full terms are available in our Terms of Service. Optional growth services and custom solutions may have separate scope, billing, cancellation, and ownership terms stated in the applicable proposal or agreement.

What's yours, what's ours, and how billing works
What you own
You own your domain name (subject to registrar rules), your business name and trademarks, and the text, photographs, media, logo, and brand assets you supply. You also own your customer data and the final business-specific content created for your website, subject to any third-party license restrictions. Accounts created specifically for your business are registered in your name whenever practical.
What Website Sherpa retains
We retain ownership of our reusable frameworks, shared templates, internal tools, libraries, reusable code components, workflows, design systems, hosting configurations, automation systems, and internal documentation used across multiple client projects.
Third-party items
Fonts, stock photography, plugins, themes, software libraries, SaaS tools, scripts, widgets, payment providers, analytics platforms, hosting platforms, and other external integrations remain governed by their own licenses and providers. We don't promise transfer of a third-party license unless it's actually transferable.
Exporting your content
While your account is active and paid, you may request an export of your website-specific content and available deployable website files. After service ends, you have 30 days to request available files before they may be deleted. An export won't include our reusable frameworks, internal tools, proprietary automation, hosting infrastructure, or third-party licensed assets that can't legally be transferred.
Moving elsewhere
The exported website may need different hosting or configuration, and some features may require replacement software, subscriptions, licenses, or technical work. We don't guarantee every managed feature will function unchanged after migration, and migration assistance isn't included unless expressly stated or separately quoted.
Billing
There is no separate website build or setup fee. The plan you select is billed at the price and frequency shown above. That subscription covers hosting, maintenance, and the included updates for your plan.

Terms used on this page
What is a standard page?
A standard page is one unique public website URL created using Website Sherpa's standard content components, for example Home, About, Services, Contact, or an individual service page. A page that requires custom application functionality, complex data, user accounts, product management, databases, or unusual interactive functionality is not a standard page.
What is a revision round?
A revision round is one consolidated set of feedback submitted after reviewing the current version of your website. Changing the approved project direction, adding new pages, introducing new functionality, replacing most of the approved content, redesigning the approved structure, or requesting a materially different concept are not normal revisions. These may be treated as scope changes and quoted separately.
What is a minor content update?
A minor content update changes existing text, images, links, contact information, hours, staff details, testimonials, or similar website content. It does not include a new page, a page redesign, extensive copywriting, new functionality, custom development, third-party troubleshooting, or major layout changes.
What is a standard integration?
A standard integration uses an existing supported embed, script, plugin, widget, or configuration (for example a Calendly booking embed, Google Maps, social links, a newsletter signup form, a review widget, a CRM-provided form embed, or a supported chat widget) and does not require custom software development. Custom authentication, custom APIs, database work, custom backend code, and complex data synchronization are not standard integrations.
Pricing questions answered
How many pages are included?
Starter includes up to four standard pages. Managed includes up to eight. A typical site might use Home, Services, About, and Contact, but you're not required to use exactly four; some businesses use fewer. Additional pages beyond your plan's limit can be added for an additional quoted fee.
Who writes the website content?
You supply your business description, service information, contact details, logo, photographs, testimonials, and any required legal language. We correct grammar, improve headings, shorten supplied text, and format it for the website. Starter does not include original copywriting, customer or competitor research, interviews, extensive rewriting, or full brand strategy. Managed adds copy editing and rewriting for up to 2,000 words.
How many revisions are included, and what counts as one?
Starter includes two revision rounds before launch; Managed includes three. A revision round is one consolidated set of feedback on the current version of the site. Changing project direction, adding pages, or requesting a materially different design are treated as scope changes rather than normal revisions.
How long does the process take?
For Starter, the initial version is typically ready in 5–7 business days, with a typical launch in about 7–14 business days. For Managed, the initial version is typically ready in 7–10 business days, with a typical launch in about 10–20 business days. Turnaround begins after we receive your completed onboarding information, required content, branding assets, photographs, and necessary account access. Timelines vary by project and aren't a guaranteed launch date.
What must I provide before work begins?
Your business description, service details, contact information, logo, photographs, testimonials, any required legal language, and access to any accounts we need (like your domain registrar) to complete setup.
What website updates are included, and does unused time roll over?
Starter includes up to 30 minutes of minor update work per calendar quarter. Managed includes up to 60 minutes per calendar month. In both cases, unused time does not roll over to the next period, and the allowance covers minor changes to existing content, not new pages or redesigns. On Managed, you may submit multiple requests, but we normally process one active request at a time. Work beyond the allowance can be quoted separately.
Are SEO services included?
Both plans include a basic technical SEO foundation: page titles, meta descriptions, an XML sitemap, indexing configuration, and basic structured data. Ongoing SEO strategy, monthly content, and backlink acquisition are optional growth services, scoped and priced separately.
Is e-commerce included?
No. E-commerce is a custom solution, scoped and quoted individually based on what you're selling and which platform fits best.
Can you add booking or CRM tools?
On Managed, yes. Standard integrations like a Calendly booking embed, CRM-provided form embeds, and supported chat widgets are included, as long as they don't require custom software development. Starter does not include standard integrations beyond what's listed in its plan details.
What happens if I need more pages or work beyond my plan?
If a request falls outside the included plan scope, Website Sherpa will explain the additional work and provide pricing or an estimate before beginning. Nothing outside your plan's scope is started without your approval.
Who owns the domain and website content?
You do. Your domain, business content, logo, photographs, customer data, and accounts created specifically for your business belong to you, and domains and third-party accounts are registered in your name whenever practical.
Can I move the website later?
While your account is active and in good standing, you can request an export of your website-specific content and available deployable files. Some functionality may depend on Website Sherpa's own frameworks, tools, or templates, or on third-party licenses, and may require replacement subscriptions, licenses, or configuration elsewhere.
Are third-party subscriptions included?
Not unless explicitly stated. Third-party subscriptions, transaction fees, advertising spend, premium software, licensed assets, domain-registration fees, and specialized hosting are separate from your Website Sherpa plan.
Is legal or accessibility compliance included?
No. We don't provide legal, regulatory, or accessibility-certification advice. If you have specific compliance requirements, we recommend consulting a qualified professional; we're happy to help implement any technical requirements they specify.
Can I upgrade from Starter to Managed later?
Yes. You can upgrade at any time. We'll extend your site to Managed's scope and prorate your billing accordingly.
Is there a minimum commitment?
Yes. Website Sherpa managed website plans include an initial 12-month commitment, beginning when your paid subscription or onboarding begins.
Can I cancel during the first year?
You may submit a cancellation request during the first year, but the initial 12-month commitment remains in effect. Service continues through the end of the initial term, and amounts owed for it remain payable, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
What happens after the first year?
After the initial 12-month term, your plan continues under the billing frequency shown at checkout, and you may cancel at any time. No new annual commitment begins unless you expressly agree to one.
When does cancellation take effect?
After the initial term, cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
Will I receive a partial refund?
Payments are nonrefundable once the applicable billing period has begun, except where required by law or expressly agreed in writing. This includes unused months during the initial term and unused update time.
Does hosting continue after cancellation?
Hosting, maintenance, support, and included plan services continue through the effective cancellation date. Website Sherpa isn't required to continue hosting once the paid service period ends.
How do I request cancellation?
Submit a cancellation request through our contact page before your next billing date, identifying your business or website. Cancellation is effective once we acknowledge or process the request, and you remain responsible for charges already incurred.
What happens to my website after cancellation?
Hosting and management continue through the effective cancellation date. After service ends, you may request available website-specific files and content exports within 30 days, after which Website Sherpa may delete hosted files, backups, and related data.
Will the website work with another host?
Yes, you may request available website-specific content and deployable files. Some features may require replacement hosting, software, licenses, subscriptions, or technical configuration, and migration assistance isn't included unless expressly stated or separately quoted.
Are growth services covered by the same cancellation terms?
No. Optional growth services and custom solutions may have separate scope, billing, cancellation, and ownership terms stated in the applicable proposal or agreement.
